Idea

UniExo solves the main problem of rehabilitation offering faster recovery after injuries and use of a cast, without a need to stay 6-8 weeks in hospital.

For example, it will help push you up when you lean to stand up, or it will slowly support you when you are sitting down. Doctor see information about health in real time and can help in work time, after this time, algorithms tracking all process, and inform doctor online for update personalized course rehab or assist of movements.

Current Status

Traction:
1. 193 successful closed tests in clinics and rehab centers and 82 active private users. Growth revenue 200% in 2019 year.

2. Work on UniExo rehab service with subcribition model of payment for using exoskeletons, looking investors for launch in this year. In March 2020 pre-registered more 200 private clients.

3. In the process of obtaining a Ukrainian patent and an EU patent for a modular exoskeleton platform as a utility model. UniExo received grant from Ukrainian ministry of economy and development. Also in process of trademark application and copyright in the name UniExo.

4. UniExo was selected for Ukrainian pavilion, at Dubai EXPO 2020 from Ukrainian startups. (Delayed for 2021 year)
Number one in catalogue innovation products.

5. Accepted to MassChallenge accelerator Cohort 2020 Houston.

6. Working on AI service for UniExo. During 2018-2020 time developed with 55 TB of UniExo data.

7. In TOP-100 of World Entrepreneurship cup 2019-2020 and one of TOP-5 rehabilitation solutions 2019.

8. Adding to new industry in 2021. It's industrial construction and gas&oil production. It's great opportunity for help people, who work in production and help reduce load for workers.

Market

The market for physiotherapy services and products will reach $ 165.73 billion by 2023. This is a related industry with exoskeletons and one of two branches of UniExo.
In end of 2019 year, global shipments stand at 7 thousand units with a global hardware revenue of US$192 million. But, this is all expected to change very rapidly, with total shipments expected to reach over 91 thousand by 2023 and 301 thousand by 2028. Global revenue from exo-devices will grows US$5.8 billion in 2028, according to ABI Research.

Problem or Opportunity

My specialism was robotics. So when my grandmother lost movement in her right hand four years ago, I was determined to help. Iron Man 3 was just hitting cinemas and I saw the modular suit of Tony Stark. I realized that a modular exoskeleton could help her, not only to move her hand again but to rehabilitate it.
People in Ukraine have limited access to devices of rehabilitation in clinics. Anton was inspired by Iron Man movie, which helped him create his own technology of modular exoskeleton. It has helped greatly to his grandma and a few other people he tested it on during the rehab process.

Solution (product or service)

Our personalized physical rehabilitation solution is modular robotic exoskeleton UniExo under control machine learning algorithms and doctor surveillance. Once you make the first move, it assists you according to the activity. For example, it will help push you up when you lean to stand up, or it will slowly support you when you are sitting down. Doctor see information about health in real time and can help in work time, after this time, algorithms tracking all process, and inform doctor online for update personalized course rehab or assist of movements.

Competitors

First competitor is suitX www.suitx.com. but the move to production industry. Second competitor exoskeleton ReWalk rewalk.com, which provides active movement of the hips and knees to people with spinal cord injuries (SCI) for them to be able to stand, walk and turn. The price of their device is about $85,000.
Third competitor is Ekso Bionics with a price of about $ 100,000 www.eksobionics.com/ekso
It is similar in functionality and design to the mentioned above. Similar devices used in medical centers are: Armeo www.hocoma.com/en/products/armeo/ Also ReoGo ™ Robotic Therapy www.pattersonmedical.com/app.aspx

Advantages or differentiators

First innovative it's modular construction of device, not need stationary equipment and lot assistance.
Second, not need additional assistance of doctors every time, device in remote doctor's supervision.
Third, machine learning algorithms helps track health, also self-work with doctor to change programs of rehabilitation and send notification of changes without additional helps of people.
Fourth, all our competitors do not have a cloud service for exoskeletons, through which errors can be corrected, or software can be reconfigured of device. The main part is done with the help of a specialist, if the device fails, it is dangerous enough for the patient and need long term wait of repair.
Thanks to our experience with clients and doctors' recommendations, we are working on the "UniExo rehab-service" which will allow the modular exoskeleton to contact in case of unforeseen circumstances, program errors or device breakdowns fully automatically, correct the error if possible, and continue working the device.

Finance

Sale contracts, grants and building the serice.

Business model

We working with B2C model for private clients from 2017 year and sale exoskeletons with service and technical support. It helps us to make a profit for our startup, it can also be a profit in future, we will move to provide time use of device with intelligent service.
We moved to B2B model for enter to market. Our company are not limited to: insurance companies, private clinics, medical clinics. We have been targeting a number of layers of monetization, and we’ve been targeting various layers of the economy. Time use of device for limited period, it's good opportunity for many categories of people, who won't buy expensive exoskeletons but need for rehabilitation or assist of movements during per week or month.

Money will be spent on

Launch UniExo rehab service, building 100 devices, expand R&D laboratory in Munich, continue incorporation during 2021 year, and expand two boards:
healthcare and business, for work with corporates in US,
and preparing for Dubai Expo 2020 (it's important steps for marketing and selling of service UniExo),
Work with insurance companies about our service until next 2 years.

Offer for investor

We can talk about investment pool for reduce risks.

Risks

Yes, it's will be need for FDA approve as class II. We have two examples approve of Ekso Bionics and HAL 5 in this year, and they successful achieved this document, we think for us it's also can easy way with FDA.
Our founder found out in Washington communicating with FDA consultants on the issue of exoskeletons, the easiest is assisting exoskeleton devices, they do not require long licensing and can fit into the category of fitness devices and robotic assistants. Longer term is with stationary devices, since much more tests and resources are needed to get confirmation of what our competitors are doing.
